Risen from the Flames

Rotten, vile and powerful and born from fire in February 2025, ELDFÖDD started as a project meant to revive and honour the spirits that once brought excitement to the death metal scene. Sebastian Ramstedt, inspired by the old master pieces from Carcass, Entombed, Autopsy and Dismember released two songs “just for the hell of it” on Bandcamp. The songs Beyond the Fire and Silence of the Gods revealed two blistering and well composed examples of deadly metal. Response came imminent. Perra Karlsson reached out and wanted to do the songs justice with proper drums. Then came Erik Sahlstedt (vox) and Johan Jansson (Rhythm guitars). Finally they needed a bass player to complete the line up, so they asked the best they could think of; Victor Brandt. In less than a couple of weeks after the first demo was released, the recording sessions had started for the first official release, the EP “Risen from the Flames”. The choice of label was easy. Both Perra and Sebastian had worked with Stian and Edged Circle Productions before and knew that their vision would come out just right under the Norwegian label.

The music is best described as old school Swedish death metal, but it is not a pastiche of the old times. Although modern elements are absent the band has not taken studio sunlight and the hm2 sound as a blueprint for the EP. Instead, they have been looking to bring forth their own sound together with producer Gord Olson. Still, it’s important to understand that the band is not trying to reinvent the wheel here. This is Death Metal made to sound just the way it´s supposed to.

While the members are also busy with their other bands Necrophobic, General Surgery, Dimmu Borgir, Hellbutcher, Moondark and more, they are not counting out playing live on an exclusive basis and they are already at work with their full-length debut. Death Metal that will rip your head off!
