Crossed Paths

CROSSED PATHS is something of a dream team-up between Bolt Thrower’s Andy Whale (also drummer for Edged Circle Productions’ death metal titans DARKENED) and the prolific Jason Walton (Sculptured, Agalloch). And “dream” is the operative word when it comes to the duo’s debut recording, 4AM Sessions: far, FAR from metal, Crossed Paths create dark and unsettling kosmische in the grand tradition of ‘70s Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, and Cluster. Familiar these spacey excursions may be seem, uniquely, the duo’s electronic ambience integrates an overt war-themed focus, creating a hallucinatory effect not unlike the visuals to the film Apocalypse Now.
