Amok
A blast from the past

We just uploaded a full album stream of AMOK‘s brilliant album “Necrospiritual Deathcore” on our YouTube channel.

Originally released in 2006 on Mysticum’s Planet Satan Revolution label, AmoK’s Necrospiritual Deathcore was a true black sheep amongst a new rising wave of black metal at the time. Not for it’s distant, spacey bedroom ruminations nor De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas revisionism; instead, a beguiling, oft-blitzkrieging panoply of primitive blackgrind at half-speed, clattering deathrash warped into psychedelic shapes, and industrial-revolutionized musique concrete was presented to the listener, usually to be met with bemused confusion or even outright hostility. Stitched together both with alarming ease and also some form of Faustian pact, Necrospiritual Deathcore verily begat its title, but long before the time when the latter term would be denigrated/bastardized beyond all recognition. It is an album of stark contrasts, conflict yet little resolution, many questions but very few answers: in short, it is an engima.
